Travel
Vulcano, in May, can be reached by hydrofoil from Milazzo and Messina and by ferry boat from Milazzo and Napoli.
Milazzo (from where there are many departures to Vulcano) can be reached by bus from Catania airport and Reggio Calabria airport or by train from many Italian cities (Rome, Naples, Venice, Turin, Palermo and Messina). The main ship companies navigating the Aeolian Islands, are:
- Siremar (departures from Naples and Milazzo)
- Ustica Lines (departures from Messina, Milazzo, Palermo)
In the following table there are a few travel hints. For confirmation of departure times and for the return trips please refer to the official timetables of each company. Another useful link is: http://www.ferries.it/

Unfortunately the hydrofoil leaving all year round from Reggio Calabria port has been cancelled. We suggest to arrive at Catania airport from where it is more confortable to reach Milazzo port.
