Universitaet Karlsruhe

POSTDOCTORAL POSITION in CDF

The CDF group of the Institut fuer Experimentelle Kernphysik,
University of Karlsruhe, is offering a postdoctoral research
position as of August 2000. The CDF collaboration at Fermilab's
Tevatron collider, the world's most powerful accelerator, is
preparing for a new data taking period starting in March 2001,
which is forseen to last for several years. We expect unprecedented
precision in beauty, top quark and electroweak physics and the
possibility of discovery of a light Higgs boson or SUSY particle
before the turn-on of the LHC.

The Karlsruhe group has responsibilities in the construction of
the silicon strip detector ISL, in vertex and tracking software
and in the online monitoring software and is now mounting a serious
effort in data analysis. Our previous physics activities range from
SUSY searches, beauty physics and electroweak diboson physics.
A new subject of interest is the search and analysis of electroweak
top quark production.

We are looking for a person who takes interest in our physics
programme, preferentially in top quark or electroweak physics, and
has experience in software (C++ knowledge would be welcome) and
data analysis. Knowledge in German would be of advantage but is not
required. The successful candidate is expected to spend at least
one year in Fermilab. Applicants should send a short summary
(by mail, e-mail or fax) of their interest, past experience, and
names of at least three referees to:
