Park (MPI - Munich) Some ideas in string theory: Application to Cosmology Abstract In the first half of this colloquium-style talk, I review some basic ideas in string theory such as gauge symmetry, D-brane and matrix model. In the second half, I discuss the application to cosmology or the Robertson-Walker Universe.
