From BEPC to Daya Bay - An introduction of particle physics in China.

Abstract

Domestic particle physics program in China started from BEPC/BES running at the tau-Charm energy region. It recent upgrade, BEPCII/BESIII, put it into the frontier of flavor physics and hadron physics in the next ten years.

The latest proposed Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment plans to search for a new type of neutrino oscillation, and measure the mixing angle theta_13 to an un-precedented precision.

The design and current status of these two experiments will be reviewed together with other high energy physics activities in China.
