with MRS (Metal Resistive Semiconductor)
Abstract In this seminar I will present the latest result on the operating and performance characteristics of MRS. Some comparative results on the SiPM tests will be shown. These include measurements of the threshold characteristics, noise frequency, and signal amplitude dependence on the applied voltage and temperature, their stability in time and under irradiation. The single photoelectron separation for this photosensor is demonstrated with signal from Light Emitting Diode (LED). Subsequently, the response of the photodetector to light that is produced in the scintillator is studied using cosmic ray muons. These measurements were carried out for 5-mm thick long strips. The results are promising and point to the potential use of MRS as photodetector in high energy physics detectors. |
