SEMINAR   Friday, May 16th - h. 15:00 Aula A1      Owe Philipsen MIT   Lattice QCD Thermodynamics at Small Baryon Densities     Abstract   For more than twenty years the simulation of lattice QCD at finite baryon densities has been prohibited by the so-called sign problem, i.e. the complexity of the integration measure for non-vanishing baryon chemical potential. While this problem remains unsolved, the last two years have seen significant progress in side-stepping it for small densities, as they are relevant for heavy ion collisions. In this talk I compare three different approaches and the corresponding results for the QCD phase diagram in the temperature-chemical potential plane.
