Friday, 19 March 2004 - h. 15:00 Auditorium B. Touschek (Hebrew U.) "Lambda-Lambda hypernuclei" Abstract
Recent experiments on production of Lambda-Lambda hypernuclei suggest that the Lambda-Lambda interaction is considerably weaker than that deduced from older emulsion events. The state of the art for strangeness S=-2 nuclear physics will be reviewed with particular emphasis on the new experimental results and on recent few-body calculations. Using the NSC97 Nijmegen one-boson-exchange model, speculations will be made on theoretical extrapolations to stranger bound systems in which Xi hyperons, and perhaps even Sigma hyperons, are made particle-stable in addition to protons, neutrons and Lambdas. |
