Di Cesare (INFN LNF) Mac OS X: a mature UNIX OS for HEP  Abstract The seminar will be divided into two parts. Part 1. Description of the most useful UNIX components: X11, LINUX Opensource software, typical HEP software, MIT Kerberos, AFS and Windows integration. Part 2. Networking, system services and high performance hardware. At the end a demo portable computer will be presented for loan by interested people and a short report of the September 2004 Apple Expo will be given.
