I will show our first results on the identification of direct prompt photons in pp and PbPb collisions in EMCAL and TPC acceptance using the isolation cut analysis. This is a preliminary study where we have used PYTHIA and HIJING simulations and the performance of the detectors has not been taken into account. I will show how can be used the isolation cut analysis to discriminate between prompt photons and decay or fragmentation photons.
