Dear Colleagues,

Below you will find updated information concerning Wilson Fellowships at
Fermilab. I would appreciate it if you could bring this fellowship to the
attention of potential candidates in your collaboration or at your laboratory.
Applications for these fellowships are considered once per year. The current
deadline for applications is November 30, 2000.

Information about the fellowship is also posted at:

  http://www-ed.fnal.gov/programs/ed_prog_wilson.html

Candidates interested in accelerator physics should note that the there is now
a separate fellowship at Fermilab for accelerator science and technology.
Information about the new Peoples fellowship for accelerator science is posted
at:

  http://www-ed.fnal.gov/programs/ed_prog_peoples.html

Candidates interested in applying for a Wilson Fellowship should contact me
(mcbride@fnal.gov) for further information.

  Sincerely,

  Patricia McBride

Robert R. Wilson Fellows Program -- The Wilson Fellowship program at
Fermilab supports particle physicists early in their careers by providing
unique opportunities for self-directed research in experimental particle
physics. The fellowships are awarded on a competitive basis to Ph.D.
physicists of exceptional talent as evidenced by their contributions to the
field in their postdoctoral work. Fellows will work at Fermilab in areas
of experimental particle physics of their choice. Wilson Fellowships are
tenure track positions with an initial term appointment of three years.

Each candidate should submit a research statement describing a proposed
program and a curriculum vitae; and should arrange to have four letters of
reference sent to the address below. Application materials and letters of
reference should be received by November 30, 2000.

Materials, letters and requests for information should be sent to:
