Job Opening for an EXPERIMENTAL PHYSICIST at DESY (Academic)
DESY is a physics research laboratory with 1400 employees and more than 3000
guest scientists from Germany and abroad. The scientific program includes
research in particle physics and synchrotron radiation.
DESY invites applications for the position of an Experimental Physicist.
The candidate should be highly qualified to take a leading role in the
research program of the ZEUS experiment at the electron-proton storage ring
HERA. The person should take considerable responsibility in physics
analysis, participate in the operation and upgrade of the detector and
participate in shaping the future research program of the laboratory.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in physics, several years of experience in
experimental particle physics, and should be active in research in this
field. They should have an established record in data analysis and hardware
and software for particle physics detectors. Excellent communication skills
and the ability to lead larger collaborative efforts are essential.
The appointment is to a permanent position with a salary according to
federal tariffs (BAT lb).
Applicants with a physical handicap will be given preference over other
candidates when they have equal qualifications. Women especially are
encouraged to apply.
