Restarting of FINUDA in 2004
Dear Colleagues,
On the 2nd of January 2004 it was, as foreseen, reactivated the safety gas
alarm system and restarted to flux with the operative mixture the straw
tubes, since they need several day of flux to allow HV to be switched ON.
LFN will restart its activities on January 7th, and hence we should have
all detectors active for the day after, when also Drif Chambers will be
fluxed on.
The magnet, after the restart of the cryo system, went OFF on December 28,
2003 due to water shortage with the consequent warming up of FINUDA
solenoid and the loss of the insulating vacuum, is now again vacuum
isolated and in cooling phase. It should be operative for 8-9 January.
As soon as all detectors will be active and the magnet ON, if DAFNE is not
yet operative, data taking shifts with cosmic rays will in any case start,
as already estabilished, While, in case the magnet will not yet be ON, it
has to be decided if data taking with cosmic rays and field OFF is
significant: in case of negative decision, the shifts can be temporarly
suspended.
