DAFNE status

Dear Colleagues

In the last week end DAFNE succeeded in circulating about 1 mA of
electrons for hundreds of microseconds and 5-6 mA of positrons for 1 ms.
Up to now they worked in single bunch. After arriving to circulate also
electrons at the same level of positrons, they will start to implement the
multibunch operation mode and then the conditioning of the machine,
injecting more currents, to improve the vacuum in both rings and increase
the beam life time. SO the progress is now real and steady.

For next wendsday, Sept. 10, from about 10:00 to 3 p.m. Dafne hall will be
open: so anyone needing to enter can use this period.
