How to read and change ST discriminator thresholds
An easy and automatic procedure is now available for reading
and/or changing the high and low thresholds of the ST discriminators.
Now the procedure is easy and you are no more required to edit the file modlist.dat for all discriminator channels. On the other hand, it is now easier that someone changes thresholds without informing the other people. For this reason, we strongly recommend to check the threshold values before starting any run.
- From any terminal, open a telnet session to fndstb. (Type "telnet fndstb" and press Enter. Then type the username that is "stb").
- Go to the directory /home/DAQ/STB/dat. (Since you should be already in /home/DAQ/STB, you can directly type "cd dat").
- If you want to read current high and low thresholds without modifying them, type "thresholds" and press Enter. Follow the on-screen instructions: a complete listing of high and low thresholds will be showed on the screen.
- If you want to change the current thresholds, type "thresholds [low_th] [hi_th]", where [low_th] and [hi_th] are the low and high values respectively. If you want to check if thresholds has been really modified, type "thresholds" without parameters and read their new values.
