"Commissioning and Operation of the Control System
of the LISA Superconducting Linac"

Abstract
The commissioning of the Control System is proceeding together
with the commissioning of the LISA injector. In this paper we discuss
the aspects of the Control System evidenced during the first months
of operation with emphasis on its advantages and limits. We believe
this system to be a good solution for medium size accelerator with
limited manpower, especially when flexibility is needed.

A Simple Tool for Beamline Commissioning
and Transport Optimization

Abstract
The paper presents experimental results, simulations and some
considerations about the development of a software tool for on-line
beam transport optimization at LISA 25 MeV linear superconducting
accelerator of INFN-LNF. The tool uses an optimization algorithm
borrowed from Evolutionary Strategies techniques that allows
the definition of an optimization procedure for which the knowledge
of beamline's properties is unnecessary. Some of its limitations are
also discussed. Preliminary experiments with such a system demonstrated
quite some advantages such us the ease of development and implementation,
the independence from beamline errors and elements drifts and a high
degree of flexibility that makes this tool useful for the beamline set up
at commissioning and for later optimization.
