General Info
The
WIGGLE 2005 Mini-Workshop will be held at the
Frascati National Laboratories on 21-22 February 2005
under the auspices of ELAN
(http://esgard.lal.in2p3.fr/Project/Activities/Current/Networking/N2/ELAN/).
The
aim of the Workshop is to study wiggler optimization for
emittance control and low emittance tuning strategies.
The workshop will address wiggler design & wiggler
technologies, experience with wiggler operation at existing
storage rings, the modeling of wiggler-dominated beam
dynamics, and the optimization of wiggler parameters for the
damping rings of future linear colliders. Therefore it will
be of great interest for EUROTeV (European Design Study on
TeV Energy Linear Collider
http://www.eurotev.org/)
and for the ILC (International Linear Collider
http://www.interactions.org/linearcollider/).
Objectives:
|
understand limitations from
operational and design/construction point of
view
|
|
determine optimum wiggler
parameters to get very low emittance
|
|
review and develop wiggler
models and existing tools for characterizing the
nonlinear dynamics in a wiggler-dominated
ring
|
|
benchmarking of analysis
tools with data from wiggler-dominated
ring
|
|
low emittance tuning
operational experience
