Conference participation is by invitation only.
Invitations will be extended to participants nominated by the IUPAP country coordinators.
LNF (Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati) and the University of Rome, La Sapienza,
jointly organize the conference.



Venue:

The Conference will take place at the Auditorium della Tecnica, Viale Tupini n° 65  in Rome EUR, Italy.
There will only be plenary sessions.

Visa for entering Italy:

All the EU citizens participants need a valid passport or Identity Card, all the other foreign participants must have a valid passport.
Many cases need a visa as well: Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bulgaria, China, Egypt, Georgia, India, Indonesia Iran, Kazakhstan, Moldavia, Morocco, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam and Yugoslavia.
If you need a VISA you may need a letter in Italian from us. In that case please register yourself for the conference first and then fax a request  for VISA document support to +39-06-94032242. If fax is not available, please send an e-mail with the subject "VISA" to lp01@lnf.infn.it . We will then send you the relevant letter.

The dead line for this request is April 15 2001.

Proceedings:

Proceedings will be published by WORLD SCIENTIFIC PUBLISHING. Copies of talks transparencies will be accessible via the Conference web site.

TRANSPORTATION:

The Auditorium della Tecnica is 5 minutes walk from two subways stations as indicated in the map, MAGLIANA and E.U.R. PALASPORT; they are on Line "B" Rebibbia-Laurentina (two stations before the Laurentina terminal)

The public transportation company of the city of Rome is ATAC; it offers different kind of transports: buses, trams, subway (Metro), city trains (FM lines). There are different kind of tickets and passes:

REGISTRATION:

Pre-registration

All invitees are asked to pre register by MAY 1, 2001.
Please register electronically, if possible via our web site at www.lp01.infn.it by clicking on "registration" .
A registration form is included in this bulletin for those who have no access to the web. Send a fax to the following number 0039-06-8414495.
The invitees who are not able to participate at the Conference are asked to notify Veronica.Arpaia@lnf.infn.it, to make it possible for us to extend invitation to other delegates.

Registration will take place at the Auditorium della Tecnica (see map) Please register on Sunday if at all possible, to avoid a Monday morning crowd. If you arrive later during the week, you may register during the times listed below:

Financial Support:

The Conference organizers will be able to assist a limited number of scientists from developing countries or regions by providing support for the following local expenses
Please remember that participants have to cover their travel expenses. Application for financial support must reach Veronica.Arpaia@lnf.infn.it
no later than April 15, 2001, together with a Curriculum Vitae and two letters of recommendation. Those who apply should not pay the conference fee until notified by the Fellowship Committee.

    40 terminals for remote connections (both Windows and Linux operating systems, common personal productivity applications, telnet, ssh, ftp clients) and 40 Ethernet plugs (RJ45) for laptop connection will be available with a DHCP server. These services were made available by CISCO, CINECA, Telecom Italia, CASPUR  and  COMPAQ.

  • ACCOMODATION:

    Arrangements have been made by FASI Agency fasicong@euol.it  in order to have a wide variety of accommodation available in downtown Rome. Please reserve your hotel during the registration procedure.
    Although the deadline is May 15, 2001 we would be grateful if you could make a hotel reservation as early as possible so that your first choice can be honoured. Please remember that all participants are requested to make their reservation directly with FASI Agency.
