3^RD EUROPEAN WORKSHOP ON

BEAM DIAGNOSTICS AND INSTRUMENTATION
FOR PARTICLE ACCELERATORS

	The Workshop, sponsored by INFN, will be organised by LNF and held on October 12-14, 1997 at the Laboratori Nazionali di Frascati, approximately 20 km south of Rome.
	The Workshop will provide an opportunity for specialists, junior scientists and engineers, active in the development and use of accelerator beam instrumentation, to learn about the latest developments and to share ideas and experience.
	Contributions may be presented orally, or as a poster, or during discussion sessions. There will be an industrial exhibition and a visit to LNF and the Phi-Factory DAFNE, now under construction and nearing completion.

The Workshop fee is Lit. 500000, to be paid at the Registration Desk, (no advance payment, no checks, no credit cards). It includes proceedings, shuttle service during the Conference, welcome cocktail, coffee breaks, lunch tickets and social dinner.

ACCOMMODATION INFORMATION

A block of rooms has been booked in the VILLA TUSCOLANA HOTEL from October 11 to October 15, at the prices indicated below. breakfast included b&b plus dinner, per person single room Lit. 160,000 Lit. 170,000 double room Lit. 200,000 Lit. 140,000 The Hotel accepts VISA, MASTERCARD and American Express credit cards. A bus will pick up participants at the hotel every morning and take them back to the hotel at the end of the scheduled workshop activity. The Villa Tuscolana Hotel is 2 km far from the center of Frascati and ~3 km from the Workshop site.

These rooms must be confirmed by June 15, 1997. Thus, this is a firm deadline that people participating to our workshop ought to meet. We suggest that you make your reservation as soon as possible, in order to be sure to get a good accommodation.

Lunch will be served in the LNF Cafeteria.

The meeting point at Fiumicino Airport is at the EXIT of INTERNATIONAL ARRIVALS. Look for the "DIPAC97" sign.

TRAVEL INFORMATION

Frascati can be reached from Roma-Fiumicino "Leonardo da Vinci" Airport and/or from Termini Central Railway Station by public transportation.

We are going to organize a bus from the Aiport to Frascati on Saturday 11 in the afternoon. If you are interested tick the Transportation Airport-Hotel box in the registration form.

Participants arriving by plane:

• From "Leonardo da Vinci" Airport to "Roma Termini" central railway station: Departures to Termini from 7:38 am to 10:08 pm.
  Trains nearly every hour, traveling time 35 minutes
  Tickets are available at the Airport Station at the cost of 13,000 Lit.
  At Termini Station connections to Underground lines "A" and "B"
• From "Leonardo da Vinci" Airport to "Roma Tiburtina" railway station: Departures to "Roma Tiburtina" every 20 minutes from 6:28 am to 11:38 pm. traveling times 45 minutes.
  Tickets cost 7,000 Lit.
  Connections to Underground line "B"
• Night Transfer from Airport to "Termini" by public bus service. Departures down at the arrivals level.
• Taxi fare (yellow or white licensed cabs strongly advised) from Airport to Frascati amounts approximately to 100,000 Lit.

From Rome:

• Frascati can be conveniently reached by train from the Termini central railway station in Rome.
• Alternatively, take the subway (A line) to Anagnina, and then the CO.TRAL bus (blue buses) to Frascati.
• Taxi fare (yellow or white licensed cabs) from Termini to Frascati amounts approximately to 80,000 Lit.

Participants arriving By Car

Take the ring highway "Grande Raccordo Anulare", Exit 21-22 (see map). Take the national road Tuscolana in direction Frascati. Turn left (via Enrico Fermi) 300 mt. before downtown.

CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS

The contributed papers will be published in the Proceedings of the Workshop as an LNF report. Your contribution must be limited to three A4 pages. The main body of the text may not exceed 17x24 cm. Authors may choose their format between portrait/landscape, one or two columns. Camera-ready contributions must be handed in to the Workshop Secretariat during the Workshop.
