Integration with Common Desktop Environment

XL Fortran Version 6.1 includes window-based tools for software development:

• LPEX editor - for editing source and text files
• Program Builder - for compiling and linking programs

These tools operate in the Common Desktop Environment (CDE) Application Manager, which contains end-user applications and utilities. The XL Fortran application folder contains these tools:

• LPEX editor
• Program Builder
• Program Debugger
• Command-Line Builder

To open the XL Fortran application folder, double-click on the XL Fortran icon. You can then start any of the tools by double-clicking on the application icon for that tool.
