LI2FE Particle and Radiation Diagnostics

convenor Alessandro Cianchi

next meeting to be defined

This Working Group is aimed at studying and designing novel diagnostics techniques and instrumentations for characterization of those beams of charged particles and radiation expected to be available in LI2FE.

Crucial beam factors to be measured are brightness, brilliance, emittance, bunch length and density profiles and distributions, particle/photon spectra and degree of coherence, in the context of highly correlated phase space systems with complex configurations (bifurcations, coherent modulations, splitting).

Techniques able to perform characterization and control of interacting beams of diverse nature (particle-radiation, particle-particle), either to optimize the interaction in view of secondary beam prodution, or to study novel approches to accelration mechanisms, are well within the scope of this working group.
