Syntax
-qflag=severity1:severity2 FLAG=severity1:severity2
Purpose
Specifies the minimum severity level of diagnostic messages
to be reported in a listing and displayed on a terminal.
Notes
severity1 | Message level reported in listing |
severity2 | Message level reported on terminal |
You must specify a level for both severity1 and severity2.
Diagnostic messages have the following severity levels:
severity Description i Information w Warning e Error s Severe error u Unrecoverable error
Specifying informational messages does not turn on the -qinfo option.
Example
To compile myprogram.c so that the listing shows all
messages that were generated and your workstation displays only
error and higher messages, enter:
xlC myprogram.c -qflag=I:E
